BEFORE THE PILOT COULD REGAIN CONTROL, THE AIRPLANE COLLIDED WITH THE TERRAIN SHORT OF THE RUNWAY. THERE WERE NO REPORTED MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS WITH THE AIRPLANE OR AIRPORT EQUIPMENT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.
