HE SAID JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRPLANE ENCOUNTERED A STRONG GUST OF WIND RESULTING IN A HARD LANDING SHORT OF THE RUNWAY. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED.
