DURING A VFR APPROACH THE AIRPLANE LANDED LONG, RAN OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY, AND DOWN A SLIGHT EMBANKMENT. THE AIRPLANE COLLIDED WITH A TREE AND THEN A MOBILE HOME LOCATED 50 FEET PAST THE END OF THE RUNWAY.
The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident to be: THE PILOT DID NOT OBTAIN THE PROPER TOUCHDOWN POINT WHICH RESULTED IN AN OVERRUN. THE FACTORS WERE ALTITUDE, WET RUNWAY, AND GO AROUND NOT PERFORMED.
