GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR NTSB ACADEMY IN LOUDOUN COUNTY, VIRGINIA



Washington, D.C -- National Transportation Safety Board Acting Chairman Jim Hall will break ground on the Board's new Academy on Thursday, January 18, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. The address is 20101 Academic Way, Ashburn, Virginia, on the George Washington University Virginia Campus.

Also expected to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony will be George Washington University President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg and U.S. Congressman Frank Wolf.

The NTSB's Academy is expected to open in early 2003. It will house classrooms, laboratory space, and an accident simulation area. The Academy will teach state-of-the-art investigative techniques for transportation accidents and incidents for the benefit of investigators, operators and the traveling public worldwide.
