NTSB LAUNCHES TEAM TO INVESTIGATE STATEN ISLAND FERRY ACCIDENT
National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Ellen G. Engleman has announced that the NTSB is launching a Go Team to investigate an accident that occurred today on the Staten Island ferry.
Shortly after 3:00 this afternoon, one of the Staten Island ferries struck the dock at Staten Island. The total number of fatalities is not known at this time.
Investigator-in-Charge Robert Ford will lead the 12- member NTSB team. Keith Holloway and Paul Schlamm will serve as public affairs officers on scene.
Information on the progress of the investigation will be released by the team in New York over the next few days. Contact numbers will be announced when known.
